Pokémon 25 X Post Malone:
The Virtual Concert Experience

The Challenge

For Pokémon’s 25th anniversary, we needed to move beyond gaming and create a mainstream pop-culture milestone. The goal was to build a breakthrough experience that celebrated long-time fans while inviting a global music audience into the Pokémon world.

The Idea

We paired Pokémon with Post Malone for a first-of-its-kind virtual concert. Collaborating with director Jason Zada, I led the Art Direction, transporting a motion-captured Post Malone through seven bespoke digital environments filled with 30 iconic Pokémon. My team turned this ambitious concept into a 13-minute, real-time rendered 3D performance in just a few months.

The Result

The concert became the "tentpole" of the anniversary year, generating over 10 million views on Pokémon Day. It successfully bridged the gap between gaming and music, earning a Gold Cannes Lion and multiple Gold Clios for innovation and collaboration.

The PRE-Production ART

"Great worlds start with a spark of an idea. These are some of the pre-production concepts my talented team developed to map out our elemental journey. We used these designs to define how the powers of Grass, Water, and Fire would translate into immersive digital stages before moving into full-scale production in Unreal Engine."
